Meeting with Peter Semneby, EU Special Representative
On July 31, IFES welcomed Peter Semneby, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus to their office. Also in attendance were Claire Delessard, Political Advisor to Mr. Semneby, Gabriel Keller, Ambassador of France, and Ambassador Alan Waddams, Head of the European Commission Delegation to Azerbaijan. Mr. Semneby wanted IFES to give a brief analysis of the upcoming elections. The Country Director gave the group an overview of IFES programming, particularly its current focus on the Complaints and Appeals instructions and IFES’ dedication to implementing the provisions that were now in place with the passing of the Election Code Amendments.
